Halifax reward account

Hi all

Just a quick question , when I set my Halfax/Bos they set an overdraft for 90 days to transfer over salary and direct debits etc

Its over 90 days and the overdraft is still on there does this just come off automatically or do i need to call them ?

I have not had a letter or anything to suggest its remaining on my account ?

Thanks

  • As long as you are running the account well, a lot of people have said the overdraft has simply remained after this time.

When I was with the Halifax, I didn't ask for an overdraft as part of the application but I did move my Direct Debits to them.. They of course gave me that overdraft and it did remain after this time, they just kept reviewing it each year at the same amount.

The easiest way to confirm would be to contact Halifax (08457 20 30 40) and ask.

If the overdraft has changed from a "Switchers Overdraft" to a "Fixed-term Overdraft" then it is no longer fee free. An overdraft with Halifax can be notoriously expensive, so be sure to check out the fees before you start using it, details on fees linked below:-

Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.
