I get confused, My anti bodies in my blood react to yeast, so my blood levels are out fighting (so im told). If I give it up , my antibodies will return to normal and Hopefully I will feel better.
So if having a proper blood IGe reaction to Yeast means I have to avoid it to feel better, then what is the difference to someone having a over load of yeast in the body(candida) ?
Is it a different type of problem to yeast ?
just been to tescos and the sour dough had yeaast in it but tortillas are yeast free, which is great.Kindness costs nothing0 -
Cornbread doesn't have yeast in it. I'll hunt out the recipe for you.Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0

the way i see it, an intolerance to something means you should never eat it as the problem is always there.
with someone who has too much yeast in their gut, taking a break from it eases the symptoms and lets your body get back it's natural balance. introducing foods back into the diet slowly shouldn't then alter that balance again.0 -
I have to second (third?) the soda bread, I only tried it for the first time quite recently and I'm hooked. My problem is too much wheat, I live on bread and pasta - potatoes only creep in occasionally as OH is not a fan. I'd happily eat them morning, noon, and night!0

The following is a useful explanation of the difference between an intolerance and an allergy:

If you cannot find buttermilk for your soda bread then soured milk (add teaspoon of lemon juice) or yoghourt diluted with milk or water will do instead.
This company make very good yeast free products, although they are not cheap:

You can usually get them from health food shops and I can recommend the Raisin Borodinsky as an alternative to malt/fruit loaf0
