Hi
I've used Malwarebytes scan for the first time, yesterday and it found lots of infections.
I have deleted all of these, apart from the ones that were labelled 'registry keys' or 'registry values'. Is it ok to delete these too?? I didn't want to delete anything that would affect the running of my laptop!
For example, it lists:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\PreApproved\{9FF05104-B030-46FC-94B8-81276E4E27DF} (Adware.MyWebSearch) -> Not selected for removal.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FunWebProducts.HTMLMenu.1 (Adware.MyWebSearch) -> Not selected for removal.
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ScreenSaverControl.ScreenSaverInstaller (Adware.MyWebSearch) -> Not selected for removal.
Hope someone can advise.
THANK YOU

yes, remove them
Please post the WHOLE of the log so we can advise further
then reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin):idea:0 -

Thanks for the tip...just wondering about HIJACK THIS....what would this programme do that my current AVG and Malwarebytes doesn't?

Also...I have previously been advised NEVER to delete anything with 'registry' in it!...Is it def ok to remove these files??!!!..sorry..I'm a bit nervous!!
thanks again!!0 -
Trust me, you MUST remove those files as theyre all malware related
Hijack simply creates a log, its competely different to AVG:idea:0 -
