It was quicker to look the phone number up online because I was sitting at the computer. I have made my point. As anyone reading about the subject concerned will recognize.
I do not like these sites because they can lead to one sided arguments, intimidation and bullying. I do not like any of the other chat sites either as my daughter was bullied for quite some time on line when she was at school. Therefore 'I am not the type of person that ususually uses this type of site because I do not like them. Other people may consider them to be a usuful and enjoyable site to go on. I didnot intend to intimate that anyone going on this type of site was being judged in any way. I was merely making my point that I especially joined this sight because I felt that although the lady had a problem that my oppoinion of the company concered and my experiences with them differed from hers. I hope this clarifies matters. I will be making no further comments.

As I have said before I will continue to order my boots and shoes as I consider them to be genuine and hard working people. Any one else looking to purchase shoes should make up their own minds. One complaint does not necessarily mean that a company is bad.
I've every sympathy for a company that genuinely struggles and goes under... but this company did a "Phoenix", setting up a new company weeks before the old one went bust (owing tens of thousands of pounds to a variety of people, including some of their own employees!), then operating the new company from the old one's premises, apparently without a break as if nothing had happened. I'm still waiting to find out from the liquidators if the "Phoenix" company bought any of the equipment, machinery or stocks from the original one at a knock-down price, snatching these out of the reach of creditors.
That's the sort of attitude to business that everyone (excluding you, obviously!) ought to be aware of, and think about hard before parting with any cash.0 -
Hello
This is my first post an I suppose I do pose the risk of being called David Xavier....... but guess what? I'm not. I am however a state registered orthotist, which means I am regulated by the HPC.
The HPC (health professions council) can only regulate those who are registered with them. They can only protect the use of job titles of those who they regulate. This means that somebody can practice providing and assessing orthoses but as long as they do not call themselves an orthotist, the HPC are powerless to do anything. An example could be somebody who was not qualified but still calling themselves and orthotic consultant. This sounds a grand title so patients would feel safe to have treatment undertaken by someone calling themselves this!
As a supplying clinician to the NHS, I have used Xavier footwear for only a limited number of patients and I do find that the quality is very high and would put them on a par with the likes of Bolton brothers or JSM. I do believe that if you are getting a pair of custom made shoes for £200, you are getting a very good deal, as comparable MTM shoes to the NHS (who get them really cheap compared to europe or the states) would be paying between £350 and £500 for relatively less complex footwear. I have heard that some people pay in the region of £1000 in london for bespoke footwear privately.
