Hi,
I was rear ended by a chav who drove off last year, I've just come to do my renewal and it's £300 MORE if I included the "notification only" incident(UNTRACABLE EVEN WITH FULL REG NUMBER!!!! P REG VW GOLF !!!!).
Now, I've contacted my current insurance company and they state that I have to declare this incident - HOWEVER on confused.com it states this.

"Have you made claims in the last 5 years?
Please give us details of any accidents or claims you've had involving your car in the last 5 years. Please include incidents where you were not deemed to be at fault or where you were driving a different vehicle."

Now obviously I did NOT claim so according to that information it's legal for me to not put it there.

Not only that the MIB are slow and as of yet I'm £400 out of pocket for repairs, potentially an additional £300 because of the premium - for something I didn't even DO!

Also the cheapest two insures that appear in the confused.com list are my current insurer and the same company renamed (I'll refrain from saying the names)

What should I do?

You must inform them of the accident even if you did not make a claim, to not do so will cause you problems in the future especially as they can check against the MIB records.

Paddedjohn's advice is good, though in your case you have made an actual claim (via MIB)!

The bits in red apply to the situation you've described so even on that site need to be declared
