Never booked in advance,they come about every 20 mins,you have to change at pisa centrale or centro?

Well done for pointing this out to the OP, as coming into Firenze there are semi stations beforehand with Firenze in the name (though the main Firenze station is a dead end so you can't go any further).

I once got confused travelling to Tivoli on the train, there were one or two stations beforehand with Tivoli on the station board. They often put names of local villages/areas on the board, so it can be hard to work out which station you really want to get off at.
