Timber or uPVC door?

Hi all, having a small debate with my other half about a potential front door replacement.
current door is timber, it is slightly warped at bottom so does not make full contact with seal allowing a draft to get in at the bottom edge. it is also a bit short which has been compensated by having a brush draught excluder but this is a bit worn and not as good as i may have once been.
the gf would like a upvc door for good draft exclusion, multipoint locking, and she also feels it will provide better thermal insulation due to its foam and vinyl sandwich construction.
I would like a snazzy timber door. I think they look nicer (the modern stylish ones atleast), Think they are just as secure with descent locks and good lock placement (can you get a timber door with multipoint locks like upvc?) Im sure thermal efficiency can be just as good with proper seals - though not seen any real figures?
Also i would replace the current frame if I were to get a new timber door as its probably been weakend by the number of lock changes it appears to have had.
I just want to get some views on this from people who may be in the know.
- note: this door is sheltered from any rain, wind and direct sunlight so durability to elements is not a real concern.
thanks

Hi Tripp, I'd be interested in what folk advise about this as I'd quite like to replace our rear upvc door with a lovely timber stable door. The door isn't in the best condition so could do with replacing and I don't like plastic doors I prefer wood! Hope you get some answers soon0

composite door may be the compromise solution0
-
Composite or timber as plastic is a no no as I'd rather replace the other half then the door ;o))0
-
+1 for a composite0

Composite doors anyday i fit upvc doors everyday and preferr composite ones better quality a bit more expensive but worth the extra money https://www.rockdoor.com do really good stable doors rock doors are the best on the market but there are cheaper alternatives out there.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature and avatar. MSE option is to recondition your current timber door of course!
Can the door frame be adjusted to allow for the slightly shorter door and new draught excluders fitted and new door furniture
Especially if its a hard wood door, be a shame to use more of the earths resources uneccessarily?
Just a different perspective0
