I agree with whoever suggested pushing his bedtime back - maybe to about half past seven, with the argument to the younger one that because he's older he gets to stay up later (if he doesn't already) - and rewards for staying in his room (not necessarily in bed) every night for a week. As a last resort I would use the baby gate technique.

Do they have a bedtime routine? What kind of electrical stimulation (telly, computer, games consoles etc) is in the room? Also, are you sure it's definitely him waking up the little one and not the other way round?

I can remember doing that when I was little :D And one morning finding myself watching the Atlanta Olympics opening ceremony at about 5am!

Our children dont have anything electrical in their room, bedtime routine is teeth, toilet and story then tucked up in bed and lights dimmed. My youngest is 20months younger so there isnt much between them maturity wise, there wouldnt be much point staggering bedtime.

Last nights bedtime was a little after 8pm, which means thats now 3 days of having a late night, this morning they came into the bedroom to tell me it was 7:01 :j they are both very excited about the 'prize' at the end of the week.

    lets hope it lasts, :T

I don't blame him, sometimes I hate my cat.

The other day it knocked a full cup of coffee on my foot trying to get to OH's tuna sandwiches, and if it's been in all night it will poo on the kitchen floor, not out of the way, oh no, right in front of the kettle so when you shamble in there for the first cuppa of the day you get that tell tale squish betwen your toes..._pale_ :mad:
