Hsbc mortgage application . . .

Just looking for any advice/input . . .

Just applied for a 2yr fixed rate mortgage in branch at HSBC with my partner. We got the distinct feeling that the advisor couldn't wait to get us out the door, however she told us to go ahead and get an offer accepted on the house then she would process the app.

We have since had our offer for the house accepted and getting back in touch with HSBC has been a nightmare. She has finally got back in touch via email and told us she will process our application and we'd hear back in 2/3 days.

Our experience has left us very anxious about whether its going to get approved or not (possibly just the advisor's attitude).

We have a joint income of £32k, one child, purchase price is £72k and looking for 90% LTV.

Any other similar experiences?

Any insight into the likelyhood of acceptance?

Thanks V much in advance!

:)

    LTV poorish
    Loan to income quite good

with 32k income, why do you only have ~8k deposit? do you have credit or loans?

These are the questions which will be looked at. How long did it take her to get back to you? Perhaps you should investigate other lenders?

  • Between us we have £2.5k on cards and I have £4k left to pay on an original £8k loan. Our savings/banking/ccards/the loan are all with HSBC.

It took her 2 days to get back to us to say she was going to process the application, she put this down to being very busy due to high demand at the moment. . .

We should get a decision any time now so fingers crossed . .

If its a no, any ideas on who would be happier to lend at 90 LTV for a first time buyer?
