ok this one really tricky, and a bit of a mess, so any help would be terrific

i dont like my christian name and when at school i change it, and every one called me by my new name which is not that different from my original name, so when i started learning to drive i put license in my simialar but changed name.

now i have got married and need a photo card, but everything i have is in my original christian name,

what do i do , i always ment to change my christian name by depole (sorry if spelt wrong) and its never been used to deseve anyone its just i think my correct name is pompas

please can anyone help me?:(

You do not need to use a deed poll to change your name.

So what is your Christian name.

(just helping and not judging, it'd deed poll and pompous) Is it something like Hermione or Morticia.
Do you realise it is probably only in your own head.

I hated my name Annie when i was at school and was ribbed something terrible about it. I moved schools and changed it to Anne,
till someone from my old school joined us. Back to Annie, and all the ribbing again, Couldnt wait to leave school and was Anne ever since.
Now in my early 60's I just love being called Annie because it is only the people who love me and I love who call me by it and now i give my proper name to everyone.
See what I mean, its only in your head, why dont you just shorten in or make a nickname out of it.

sorry this is hard to explain, i have the name of say christine, and when at school i changed it to christyn say for example, but all my legal document i thought were in christine but my driving license is in the name of christyn. how do i prove who i am for the new photo id licence because everything i have is in the christine form. even my marriage cerificate and passport are in christine.

Your real name is far from pompous, if that is just your exapmple.
So you changed a perfectly normal name to something pompous because you didnt like your real name.....

When you apply for the driving licence just send a copy of your passport page with your photo and name on it and ask the DVLC to supply your driving licence in as 'Christine' so all your documents are the same.

i know its a real pompus think but i just hate my real full name, its alright to change it verbally but to have it on offical documents is a another matter, sorry just stressing over this matter, what will the dvla think of this?

I changed the spelling of my name years age, now everything I have except my passport and birth certificate is in the new spelling, no one has ever queried it.

Makes no difference. The spelling of my christian name on my birth certificate is different to both my passport & driving licence. I had no problems obtaining either with the different spelling.
