Renting a flat with no heating
Comments

What kind of situation is the flat in? Is it a middle floor, does it have neighbours through the wall to left and/or right?
I'm wondering if the ambient temperature from surrounding flats would make it just about bearable with spot heating.0 -
Nothing on the left, half the wall is covered on the right (Sort of staggered I guess). Top floor.
To be honest, I think we're going to keep looking. The biggest problem so far has been pets - Between the 3 people moving in we have 2 lizards and a tortoise.0 -
I think you're right!0

LLs often object to cats and dogs but your sort of pets shouldn't really cause too much of an issue. You could of course share your lizards' heat lamp......;)Nothing on the left, half the wall is covered on the right (Sort of staggered I guess). Top floor.

In the absence of storage heaters or central heating I'd only consider a property with open fireplaces. Also ask about insulation when looking around - check out that pretty coloured EPC.0 -
The biggest question is what sort of person are you?
If you're always outside, never wear a jumper even in winter and generally like living in a tent, then go for it.
If you're a bit nesh then don't.
I've stayed in some pretty appallingly cold places when I was younger and I wouldn't do it these days. BRRR.0 -
I'm fine with no heating personally, I tend to always be too hot. The girl we're moving in with currently lives with no heating, she's cool with it (I know, terrible pun..)
The girlfriend however is ALWAYS cold, even in my current house (gas central heating and pleasantly toasty), so i'm a little concerned about her.0 -

I ended up buying a couple of space heaters when I rented a heating-less flat. They do eat up electricity, though.0

Glad you've answered that because I'd never heard it either.0
