If you owe them money, they are going to ring until told otherwise. Any idea why they are calling?
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

Officially there is no statutory legislation that makes reference to specific times for phoning people at their place of residence. However due care should be taken by the creditor as to what is reasonable.

If they are continually phoning at unsocial hours this could be classed as harassment under section 40 of Administration of Justice Act 1970.
Here to offer help and advice, and maybe take a little in return.

Whilst I am happy to share my knowledge, I am in no way a professional... I can not therefore accept responsibility for inaccurate info, I ask that you take professional advice rather than rely totally the info provided by myself

If this is with regards arranging debt repayment, have you sent a letter requesting all communication be in writing only?
There are some templates on the board for that.

  • Lloyds TSB are awful, if they are calling your landline, get your number changed ( it's free to do ) just tell your phone provider you are getting lots of silent calls and also tell LLoyds that they from now on to contact you by letter only, as anything that is important to tell you must be on writing anyway !

They also used to tell me " I was a valued customer, then they started to send me hate mail " quote from confessions of a shop a holic
  • I can second this, I have only missed one payment with them but they have phoned me repeatedly on my mobile all weekend and I cant change the number as its my business line

There is an alternative if your mobile can do this trick - record a 'silent' ringtone and assign it to the number they call from ;) Hey presto, you'll never 'hear' from then again! :D Follow that up with a letter send recorded deliver telliung them you only wish to deal with them in writing and they are not to call you again or you will report them to the OFT.

Sadly it won't work if they call ID withheld, but it should work otherwise ;)
