Im sure if I had the computer I could find the audio driver

    anyways -
You could (morality aside) reinstall w7, switch to only download updates you want and HIDE all authentification updates (And do not install SP1)

You could? Haha! That would be awesome. Windows XP was running 10x more smoother on my laptop, even though it was built for Windows 7 only. (I hate the thing with a passion.)

Windows 7 is optimised for multi core cpus. So if you have one and XP runs better, then somethings amiss (first suspect is RAM)

Thanks. The RAM is fine, I guess. 2GB DDR3 Dual Channel. Anyways, I'm still after a working OEM (Toshiba) CD or ISO... I just can't seem to find any.

    Any advice?

So... what's the model of your laptop? If an XP driver exists, maybe Rik or I will have more luck in tracking them down.

Try this if you're on XP (works for windows vista and 7 too) http://www.driverupdate.net/ it should find your drivers for you.

Thats another problem. I bought the laptop off ebay so its probbally been registered the the previous owners name. Or will Microsoft accept second users?

The Microsoft activation number is all automated (and very tedious) you don't talk to an actual person, you just enter the number and they give you an activation number in return.

I do this at work all the time, as people mess up their PCs so it's easier to wipe and reinstall, but after three times (iirc) it doesn't automatically allow it and asks you to ring.
