Hi all you money gurus
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but has anyone transferred out of having a Santander Current Account and can I ask who they choose to move to?
I have been with the same bank for over 10 years but enough is enough due to their poor customer service and the dreaded foreign call centres that I had to endure on many occasions, I am now thinking of switching, I have nothing against foreign call centres as they do seem to be extremity polite but I prefer to talk about my banking matters with someone who can understand what I say without repeating myself over and over again only to feel that I'm being spoken to from a script.

If telephone service is important to you, look at First Direct and Co-op Bank / Smile as your options.
If good value product and British call centres matter, then look at Halifax and their Reward account (£5 a month for you).0 -
lloyds tsb is excellent bank for customer service!0

Me, I am moving to Lloyds TSB - Mainly because the wife is already with them, but because they also have good ebanking and some good products and services. Not as green as I am cabbage looking0 -
They have a mixed reputation but I moved my c/a fro Nationwide (which went downhill fast) to Nat West and have been very happy.
Excellent Faster Payments.
Good online service
Good branch network0 -
I too have moved from Santander to Natwest and Halifax, and am happy with both. Having issues with Lloyds TSB at the moment, their customer service is not as great as they'd like you to think. Ive asked them 3 times to close my cash account with them, and its still not closed, it was easier closing my Santander account!Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0

you need to check out your local branch.
go round them all and ask a few questions. look at length of queues, number of staff about etc.
I have found my local lloyds to be fab, but another branch 10 miles away was dreadful. If you look around the threads you will see some folk swear that bank A is ace, but another lot of people say they are rubbish.Getting fit for 2013 - Starting weight 10.1.13 88.1kg
