Hi,
I did start a thread last week, but other issues sort of clouded the thread so after a whole weekend of trying to make a DVD thought it best to start a new one!
I have transferred some movies from my Sony Handycam to my Laptop. There seem to be 3 different files - MPG, MOFF & MODD.
I have, in the past successfully transferred the same type of files onto a DVD-R without any difficulties, but now, for some reason, my dvd player won't play the newly burnt disc.
I have tried the trial version of Nero, but the trial version doesn't seem to cover DVD's only CD's
I have tried IMGBURN but just got myself into a complete mess - I thought I'd cracked it, but then just kept getting error messages advising that the source files could not be found
I've tried Windows DVD maker, but again, did not work
I have tried different DVD's - DVD-R, & DVD+R
Some of the files have been burnt to the DVD and some play - I now have 3 dvd's, all have some files on, but only some of these play?
Am totally confused & fed up!
Don't understand why a year ago, managed to transfer the files onto DVD with no issues at all, am using same camcorder, same Laptop, same DVD player but now have all these problems?
Can anyone please advise (in simple terms) how I get the MODD, MOFF & MPG files from 'my videos' onto a dvd which will play in a normal DVD player (I have checked that my DVD player will play DVD-R/DVD+R)
Thank you

nero usually has a drop down box to do the dvd's

Also tried AVS, and this converted some of the files to TS audio & TS video, but the audio folder is empty?
When I tried to burn these files to DVD, again, I just got an error message"Hope for the Best

audio folder being empty is normal, video folder should have some vob's which is your mpg video and audio combined
error message saying?!!

OK-The disc I've just tried to burn to will not play in my DVD player - When I put it in laptop, there are files, with only 717 mb free out of 4.7 gb?
But, windows cannot play the files.
This is the 7th disc that I've tried using, I'm guessing none of them are reusable?"Hope for the Best

You could try ConvertX2DVD. I use it all the time and it works well. Tried Nero and had loads of problems
