which is the best way to reclaim PPI

I need information if anybody claimed PPI talking direct to the bank without sending letters.
I am planing to reclaim my PPI but dont know which option will work out better. Can I just talk to my bank and see what they can do or write letter to them?

You can lodge a complaint over the phone. However, having the audit trail of a letter is common sense and it ensures it goes through to the complaints team rather than being fobbed off by a telephone clerk.

The branches do not handle the complaint regardless of communication method. So, you get no difference in outcome

I spoke to complaints department at Lloyds TSB already and they were ready to put claim through there and then and to be honest they were very helpful but I do agree that to put in writing will be much better. Would it effect the amount of reclaim at the end of case if I talk direct to bank or send them letters?

    Hi there

With mine via Lloyds, I only dealt with them by letters, and used hardcopy post, recorded/signed for delivery.
Sometimes I emailed them as well but only for updates etc, but otherwise all reclaims were dealt with in writing only.

The address used was this one below........

    Lloyds PPI
    Customer Care
    Lloyds TSB Insurance
    Tredegar Park
    Newport
    South Wales
    NP10 8SB

However, I believe some have emailed PPI complaints to them, and asked them for confirmation of delivery.

If you do this the details are.

    Good luck on your reclaiming.

Thank you very much for answers. I hope everything will go well. Will post on here as soon as I hear anything from Lloyds.

Hi, The best way is to always write to them, that wasy you have records to refer back to. I am claiming for my late husbands credit cards and I have already had £2400 from American Express.

Just want to double check if I understood this correctly. To start a complain about PPI I have to fill in one questionere and send it to lender?

What shall I do next? I put claim through on 20th of March 2011. Since then I received one letter saying that they looking in to my complaint and will contact me as soon as possible. Its been nearly 5 months and only one letter. Is this normal?

    Hi

You should have heard something by now, even if it's a letter to say about more time, give them a ring, good luck.

Or email the CEO and copy and sent to the Customer team as well.
