Best ATM facility for a child abroad
Comments

Most if not all of the accounts for kids comes with a Visa Debit card these days including Barclays, Lloyds TSB & NatWest just to name a few..
They will of course be able to use these abroad for ATM use, but just check the fees before going so they know how much extra it will cost them each time to wirthdraw.
I understand why they wan't them to take a card rather than cash, but it could be cheaper for example if they take a larger lump sum out in cash while on the trip than take 3 x smaller amounts out.David

Haha! I will excrete large bricks, I'm sure! He's going straight after his GCSEs too - most of the other kids going are a school year older and doing it in the middle summer of their A level courses. Plus he's one of the youngest in his year.
But - he wants to work in conservation, so it's going to be fantastic experience and a good entry on his resume. He's also worked part-time and fundraised for a full year to contribute towards the (eye-watering) cost.
So hopefully the pride will outweigh the fear!0 -

From a parent point of view it must be very scary indeed and can see myself being the very same..
But hey, in return I bet they will see the world from another point of view and at least it gives them a good understanding in money once they find how much extra they have to pay when withdrawing cash abroad

He has certainly found that you have to work a LOT of hours to raise four-figure sums! I think that's an invaluable lesson!0
