LCD TV in front of a radiator

I viewed a flat recently, which didn't have that much space in the living room and the only place to put a tv was next to the radiator. I've ruled out having it above the radiator (with a shelf above the radiator or cover) as it would be at too high an angle.
The only other option would be to have it in the corner, so one edge of the 32" tv will be about 8 inches from the radiator.. is this okay? Would have a radiator cover make any difference in this position?
I don't want to rule out a flat because of the tv
Not sure if this is posted in the right place so I'm sorry if it's not.

Could you not buy a bracket (that swings out) and mount it on the wall. Then you can "put the telly away" when you are not using it.0

Heat is a problem with panel TV's.
Advise turning the radiator off or moving the TV.0
