No Sound? No Realtek

Hi after reinstalling Vista, I have no sound or 'Realtek drivers'
Could any one point me in the right direction, unsure where to look or what to download as yet.

yes, if the system has (had) a factory restore partition, that's the easiest and fastest way of reinstalling a working system

Hi again 've downloaded various drivers from medion to no avail? Is there anything else I can do? or check please? Is it worth using programs like 'drivefinder', 'driver detective' & 'driver whizz'?

Hi its a PC, Medion, Akoya E4320D, MSN NUMBER: 10011943
I've downloaded nearly all the relevant drivers, but still no sound. Searched & read everything found on google? I am totally lost as to what to do. At the moment looks like 'am not going to sort this. Will try later

Assuming you have put your msn number into the medion website and installed the drivers listed, what have you installed, and which are missing from device manager - look for the instance id of things that aren't working

In the device manager can't see any mention of realtek ? & 'sound, video & game controller' when clicked only shows 'high definition audio device? Unsure if this lot as installed properly

If it isn't installed, it will have a yellow ! or ? next to it, or a red cross, and may say unknown device.
