How to get money from Santander to other banks?

I’ve read the helpful threads about Halifax Reward Current Account and the Lloyds Classic Account with Vantage.

I’ve decided to leave Santander but due to the problems I’ve read with their Faster Payments, I’m not too sure how to fund the Lloyds account.

1) I’ve an appointment soon with Halifax to transfer my ISA and will also ask them to switch my Santander current account to a Halifax Reward Account – I can fund this with £1000 pension per month.

2) I’ve opened a Lloyds Classic Account – not added Vantage yet – or funded it,

3) Attempted to move £7000 from Santander eSaver to Santander current account which failed! But did manage to move £3000.

The main problem seems to be getting a further £18000 out of the eSaver to my Santander current account, then out to Lloyds. I’ve read they only allow a FP of £300.

Am I making things too hard for myself. Perhaps the quickest way, would be to close the eSaver and ask for a cheque?

I'm very puzzled about the sequence of steps to take.

All Help appreciated, thank you, Genny

Although they have a £300 Faster Payments limit, you should be able to transfer more by BACS. This'll take 3 working days.

Thanks for your reply, another question. I'm having trouble moving more than £3000 from the esaver to the linked santander current account. Would I need to ring them and ask them to move the money by BACs to the current account?

Or ring them and ask them to use BACs to move the money to my new Lloyds account?

I've difficulty understanding what to do because of a severe blow to the brain.

Thanks again for any help you can give.

    Genny:)
