Hey perhaps we work for the same company !
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Shift work can [STRIKE]ruin your social life [/STRIKE]affect your partner too.;)

My experience of living with a shift worker is, the shift allowance does not compensate for the loss of social life, Christmas, interrupted rest days and lack of choice over holidays...........which affects the shift worker and their partner.

Even if the above doesn't worry you, try sleeping during daytime hours in the middle of summer on a weekend when your neighbours are mowing the lawn and doing DIY. All reasonable enough behaviour during daytime hours.................but not for the poor shift worker who has been on night shifts.

When colleagues go off sick, the company rings to call you in on your rest day.

If your colleague is late for work, held up in traffic, had an accident or breakdown...............you have to stay on shift until the colleague or another (rest day) colleague arrives.

The shift worker often struggles to sleep (because sleep patterns are disturbed) and is grumpy and lethargic.............so doesn't enjoy their days off because they need to catch up on rest/sleep.

Some shift workers are more prone to illness, such as stroke and heart attack.

    Would I recommend shift work?

    Not in a million years.

    Regards
