Santander on credit file

I wonder if someone can help. I'm not quite ready to clean-up my file properly yet (get AD in a few weeks), but I was just looking back at the Experian Credit report I got at the end of last year and while all my others debts appear to be marked as defaulted, the Santander one isn't and oddly looking at the status history, it suggests I have only been late once. Now if I recall correctly I was never late/missed a payment and I assume that this one (1) in the status history is perhaps the month I went BR and I guess officially made my first missed payment? Even if thats the case, why is it showing (0) for all the other months, which suggest payment is up to date?
The other thing and I only noticed it this month, is that they are continuing to increase the balance. I get monthly statements off Santander (no threatening letters, just statements) and noticed for the first time that the balance on each statement has risen.
So how come Santander haven't marked this account as in default? As I mention about, I have no contact from them except for the statements, but hearing other people's bad experiences with Santander, I'm a little worried that if the account isn't marked as it should be then perhaps as a certain point they might sell on the debt. I've copied and pasted the entry below (some numbers/detailed changed for privacy).
JOHN DOE, ADDRESS, POST CODE

SANTANDER PERSONAL LOAN Budget (Revolving Account)
Started 00/00/00 Balance £5500
Montly payments £199 over 999 months Status History 0000000010000
In the last 36 months of account activity, the number of 1-2 is 01 and the number of status 3+ is 00.

Any thoughts? Do I need to do anything?

As long as you include them in your credit file clean up when you do it there is nothing to worry about, if they sell it on before then just include whoever has bought the debt in your clean up. This happened to me with Citi who sold a debt to Cabot halfway through my BR.:pB&SC No. 298

As it'll be another 3 months or so before I can do the full clean-up, could I do a clean up just for Santander to avoid any possible sell on? I was thinking I could send (just after discharge) an edited version of this template? (together with my original BO and print out of my AD confirmation form the insolvency site, or possibly a letter from the OR) to Data Control Officer at Santander?0 -

Is this an old cahoot account?
If so I have just been AD'd and my file shows Santander have settled the account (no mention of default anywhere) and the number of late payments has increased to 3.
By my reckoning this is better than another account marked default so will probably not include it in the clean up.0 -

It' still show an outstanding balance, so won't come off your credit report.
It at least needs to be marked as settled/satisfied. In doing that, they will most likely have to mark the default as well. In fact, as long as it's no later than the BR date, then it's probably best they do.
So yes, a tweaked version of the clean-up letter once discharged is probably best.
I don't know what the deal is with Santander? They seems to be in denial somewhat regards people going BR? Or they are just completely incompetent?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Oh, and they took over Abbey National, who were one of the worst banks on customer service according to previous Watchdog surveys of customers.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
