Thomas Cook (HSBC)

I bought over £1550 worth of dollars on 28th Feb from Thomas Cook.Their bank HSBC decided to take the money twice putting me in overdraft. My bank the Clydesdale took a £25 daily charge for the over draft,They will also take a monthly charge of £25 even although it was overdrawn for a day till I noticed it.HSBC have admitted liability but want proof of any charges so I am running about trying to sort this out.Clydesdale although happy to take £50 for nothing are not willing to help basically nothing to do with them but thanks for the £50.Great two way relationship NOT.. We now have to wait on refund and later charges refunded. So Clydesdale get £50, HSBC get our money(And it appears hundreds more customers money) for a week and NOT a sorry, oops or anything. Any comments or are we just the punter and who cares

The only organisation that should be apologising are Thomas Cook. If you're unhappy with their resolve, make a formal complaint. HSBC (from a customers perspective) have nothing to do with this. Clydesdale Bank have done nothing wrong, perhaps a little more empathy wouldn't go a miss, but still, either you or Thomas Cook have to sort it out.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0

Anyway you can't get a statement and send this off?0

Well you may be right re send a statement, or its Thomas Cook at fault. Now HSBC (Who admitted liability) will not pay out without intervention from Clytdesdale.Thomas Cook are wiping their hand of it,Clydesdale wiped their hands of it and now HSBC are trying. I appreciate the comments but it looks like the punter is losing out and big companies are bullying us. Any comments0

Team MSE? They moderate the boards, they don't give information or reply to threads....0

Regardless of what Thomas Cook may say, they are solely responsible. You are Thomas Cook's customer, Thomas Cook are HSBC's customer. If HSBC have made a mistake, that's for Thomas Cook to take up with them.
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about? Surely you need confirmation of the charges from Clydesdale (which most banks send automatically), which you then forward on to Thomas Cook (or if they request) directly to HSBC - although I still maintain you should not be dealing with HSBC.
Instead of constantly stating each organisation involved has "wiped their hands" of the situation, explain exactly what they're not doing.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0
