    Grouted with waterproof grout........
Fair play to you - epoxy grout is not easy to use if you are not used to it.

    Cheers

I was attempting to be subtle. ;) Epic fail on my behalf then.

No doubting keytone's area of expertise.

'If contractor does a bodge, and you don't stop, him, it's your own fault.'
The fact that you're disabled, and can't go leaping upstairs to monitor workmen in your bathroom doesn't count. The fact that they are well into it, and it's too late to go back now, is when you say "whaoa!".
And "I'm going to use my experience to rubbish tradesmen"? Which tradesmen? I can only talk about the ones I know from experience.

Sounds like keystone is a tradesman to me.
And yes, most of the tradesmen I have experience of were rubbish, even from big names like British Gas. (I CAN justify those remarks.)

Yes, we are reading Keyston's advice since we started to do our house and he saved us £££££££. Well done key, all of the advice was spot on.
He was on the ball much more than our own builder that has a particular affinity to cutting corners (he is out of job now, as we told everyone we know).

Ye, and you can't help laughing when posters are given the good old 'pva on new plaster' advice by their trades men, if only they red Keystone's advice first.
Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

Yep, and see avantra's contribution below yours.....about your advice saving them problems with their builder / contractor.
    Opinion supported I think?

Because YOU are good (but of course I don't know whether you are or not.) doesn't mean every other builder / contractor is. People need to find other people to recommend someone they've used themselves ....why?...... because there are so many cack handed cowboys out there.
So NO! there are no crap tradesmen out there, because keystone says so.

Doesn't MSE also support finding someone to recommend tradesmen?

Oh no I didn't say that at all = show me where please. I have clearly stated that OPs tradesman was a bodger. IMO the OP is complicit is the current situation because a) they didn't challenge what was being done against the agreed scope of work; b) accepted work which was clearly below par; c) paid for it = I am happy. Then two years later comes on here and says they are unhappy. The two are mutually exclusive. The [STRIKE]tradesman[/STRIKE] bodger in this case got away with it because he was tacitly given permission so to do. Any contract like this is a partnership and a two way street.

I then went on to suggest that someone on here would then take the poor quality issue well out of context and use it as a stick to beat all tradesmen round the head. Sadly, you didn't disappoint.

    Cheers

Totally agree with this. I have been consistent in saying, right the way through my membership of this site:

    a) Recommendation from friends and family is the way to go;
    b) See evidence of the guy's/gal's work (either photographic or in person)
    c) If he gives references you do not know personally ask to speak to them.

A reputable tradesman who takes pride in his work will cooperate fully and be happy so to do.

    Cheers
