Hi,
I was hoping that someone could assist me in coming up with a recipe for home made spicy salsa, for adding to wraps etc.
I am new to this board and am still working my way through the various recipes.
I am fed up with the price of the supermarket offerings. Hopefully also something that can be frozen as the current Mrs Counter doesn't like it and the jar doesn't always get finished in time on my own.
Thank you.Today is the first day of the rest of your life0 -
Hi there,
welcome to the board.
My home made salsa is delicious this is what i use,
Tin of tomatoes,
Couple of chopped up fresh tomatoes to give extra crunch (i like baby plum but any are fine really)
Handfull of chopped corriander (fresh is best but can use dry)
1 or 2 garlic cloves depending on how much you like finely chopped.
Good squeeze of lime juice.
Chopped up spring onions (optional)
I dont have the exact ammounts as i tend to just bung all the ingrediants together, tasting as i go along.
Leigh xxI will save my tesco £1 savings stamps this year! .......so far = £50 (full card#1)
Card #2 £6. I will not be skint at Chistmas this year!
Total £560 -

Thanks Leigh that sounds great.
I presume I could then just chuck in some chilli powder to taste?Today is the first day of the rest of your life0 -
Oh bleep know there was something i was forgetting.
The most important ingrediant is a small chopped green chilli! rofl what a pillock of me.
I sat looking at it knowing something was missing but couldnt figure out what.

It's got to be fresh chilli, I don't think it would taste very nice with chilli powder as dried spices need to be cooked out to taste better.
red onion always makes a nice addition to salsa, i think.0 -
