I've looked in the recipe index but can't find a recipe for tomato salsa dip. I'll be making Chicken fajitas with tortilla wraps for dinner tonight, but would love a good salsa dip sauce to go with it. I have about 20 tins of tomatoes in stock here at the moment bought on special offer, so that ingredient should pose no problems!!.

other than tins of tomatos everything else is pretty optional, my personal recipie is:
1 tin of toms
1 onion finely chopped
I green pepper finely chopped
seasoning
some tabasco (to taste)
1/2 tsp cumin
if you have any fresh herbs in the garden like coriander or parsley a handfull of that goes down wellMy Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

I always use a tin of chopped tomatoes, 1 chopped onion, 2 chopped chillies, coriander (chopped) squeeze of lime and salt and pepper to taste. I was taught how to make this by a Mexican friend!Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0

Fantastic! Glad you liked it, and it's a damn sight cheaper than the jars you can buy!

Try this:
Skin a few tomatoes (drop them in boiling water for 30 seconds then peel the skins off), chop them as finely as you like and mix with half a finely chopped onion, a minced garlic clove or two depending on how garlicky you like it, half a teaspoon of hot chilli powder and half a teaspoon of salt.
Add pepper or any herbs you have lying around if you want. You could experiment with adding a bit of brown sugar as well if you like it a bit sweeter like the supermarket stuff.
Chill the whole thing in the fridge for a bit and serve.:drool:0 -

Hi
I chop up some tomatoes (skinned if preferred - but I can't always be bothered!), red onion, chillies, fresh coriander and add some lime juice, salt and pepper to taste.
