Hi, My Grandparents want to change from Telewest as there bills are quite high and they customer services are terrible.
I was hoping someone would be able to tell me any cheap landline companies or ones with any good promotions on at the moment.
I would appreciate it and sorry if this is already covered somewhere.
Thanks Mitch

Cheapest is rarely best.
Leaving cable means getting a standard landline and, although some companies now offer slightly cheaper line rental than BT (rarely more than £1 per month cheaper), that minor advantage is quickly negated by the likely restriction on the use of cheaper providers for calls. A new line would probably cost £124.99 to have installed but, if there's been a BT landline in their place before, BT may connect free of charge.
If they have internet access* (or you are willing to run provide them with printouts once a month), the combination of a BT landline on BT Together Option 1 (£11/month by DD), Primus Saver Option 2 CPS for free evening and weekend UK 01/02 calls and use of the 18185 prefix for weekday daytime UK 01/02 and all 077, 078, 079, 0845 and 0870 calls would be my recommendation. *Both Primus and 18185 use internet only billing (payments by DD preferred).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
