Hi Everyone
Just a general question about Health Insurance. If someone switches their providers, do health issues which are being treated under the policy which one is switching from get covered by the policy they are switching to?
What happens if it is coverage through an employer and the employee is switching jobs (and both employers are covered with the same insurer)?
Thanks!

I'd say it's highly unlikely. I can't think of any provider who would take on an existing claim from another provider.
It's more likely the existing condition will be specifically excluded from the new cover by the new provider.
I must confess my corporate specialities lie with Group Life and Group PHI, rather than Group Medical Insurance, so I may be wrong.
Full details of the cover and the terms and conditions are going to be needed before worthwhile help will be forthcoming.I am a mortgage broker. If it is the same health provider, and there is no break in cover, it is likely that the provider will continue to cover you. Certainly BUPA do (or did a few years ago when that happened to me)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Thanks!
BUPA was my coverage for me and my children prior to joining the new job. BUPA is also my coverage at the new job and the gap in coverage was 2 days. My wife was with another insurer for different reasons, but we moved her over to BUPA at my new job as well after we were assured by BUPA that they would cover acute symptoms of her condition.
I just want to make sure I know our position before I go back to them.0
