how would i find out the actual (not manufacturers) mpg for a note auto?
thanks0 -
You won't because it is totally dependent on your driving style and weather conditions.
My wife's 1.5 dCi Note achieves 53mpg on short low speed motoring.0 -
thanks, just noticed that the note has annual tax of £150 so not so low emissions methinks!
any other suggestions??
was thinking of waiting til the end of the month when the new reg comes out and i may get a bargain?0 -

They are out now, since the 1st March.0 -
ok - im all set for a good deal then - is there a site that gives good comparisons for automatics with regards to fuel economy - unfortunately im unable to drive a manual but i hear the newer autos are better on fuel - is this right?0

Hi, I asked a similar question on this thread. We are still getting over 50 mpg mixed driving but mainly short journeys with our 07 Auris automatic. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/30039440

There is an automatic MMT gearbox option, but its jerky nature means it's generally not well liked by owners. - found on the What Car Site - now im all of a dither again with choices choices choices - more expert/experienced opinions wanted please!! thanks0

Here is my other old thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2890884
Yes we bought a 1.4 diesel with the mmt gearbox. Due to my wife's disability we have always had automatics, mostly standard ones with a torque converter, the Smart Fortwo had a similar gearbox to the Auris and like the Auris you felt the changes but unless you are accelerating very hard it is not jerky and the fuel saving is dramatic. We don't notice it is a diesel, much, much quieter and smoother than the Scenic.
But really it is up to you, go for a long test drive and make sure it is in town and country.0
