Anyway to get rid of annoying shop statement

Hi.

In my ebay shop it says "paypal only please. The final price is the price you pay, I wont add no fees"

I do not like this, not only because its false I have 2 adverts in my shop that clearly state cash on collection only both in the payments accepted and the item description so my shop statement is misleading but ebay put it there!

also I tick other on my listings too so people can pay direct in to bank acc, postal orders cheques etc.

Any advice how to get rid would be appreciated

I really think you need to sit down and go through the rules and regulations again, you are heading for a disaster.

A seller cannot insist on cash on collection, so the paypal statement is correct, the buyer can use it and pay no extra fees and be completely safe from any issues.

You can offer alternatives, but cannot even say you 'prefer' them and the reality is that 99.99% of buyers would not use anything other than paypal to pay.

By worrying baout trying to get round the rules you are building too much stress into your selling, you are a business so keep it professional.

Ebay put it in because it is a seller requirement that you accept paypal on all transactions and that you don't add fees. You can offer the other methods of payment but you MUST accept paypal on all listings, including collection.

Maybe you should read the ebay rules before selling.

Is that word for word what is written? I ask only because, 'I wont add no fees' is a double negative, so it actually means that you WILL add fees!

Thanks for that, but youre wrong on this one.

I can insist on cash on collection only, Im not trying to get around any rules so dont need to rethink anything, the items that I have cash on collection only on are cars, the rest of the items in my shop are car parts, but the cars still appear in my shop.

So......


Can anyone offer help in removing this ebay enforced statement which doesnt apply to "all" of my shop items but implies it does?

Maybe you should read the rules before replying so confidently....

"All" listings? Nope, Cars are exempt from having paypal enforced as a payment requirement.

Yes, word for word, and you're right about the double negs, looks like I have written it too!

If you re you selling just cars the statement could be wrong but as you also sell parts, you must offer paypal.

Where in your shop does it say this. My two shops, which are paypal only, do not state this.

I undestand that I must offer and take paypal for all items other than cars, thats not a problem, Im happy to do this. But definitely not for cars. I didnt even know it was there until a buyer asked me could they pay for a car by paypal, when I declined they said I must offer it as it says so in my shop. I told them that it shouldnt as on the description its cash only but sure enough its there in my shop.

If you look at any of my listings and then click the view sellers shop icon on them it takes you to my homepage.

ON the left hand side there is the following displays/titles in this order:
Shop search
Shop categories
Display
Postage and payment (this is where it says it)
and store newsletter

The ebay inserted paypal blurb does make it seem that I only want paypal. It can (and already has) cause confusion as I list cars all the time as well as parts.

I don't have any 'ebay inserted blurb'.

Have you tried to edit the box = at the bottom right of your shop page is a 'seller manage shop' option.

Display settings - edit current theme or in SHOP DESIGN - edit the PROMOTION BOXES.

You should then be able to navigate to the 'box' you want and remove the text.
