Congestion Charge PCN

I have driven 3 times in this week with my mum through Central London to get to Greenwich. This was the 1st time I ever past West London but I thought disabled people were exempt and you will receive the Congestion Charge bill (£8) through the post if you didnt pay online! Lol how stupid and naief for me but instead I got a whopping £180 and 2 more to come
My mum was with me and she has the Disabled Blue badge but the car isn't excempt 'disabled' as I didn't bother last year Toyota Aygo annual tax is only £20 and never go to Central London.
I've realised googling that you have to register yourself fist and pay an one-off deposit 0f £10 10 days before you enter!!!
Do you think I have any change of making an appeal? I wouldn't have mind one charge but there are 2 more coming so 180 x 3 boohoo. I can't afford as Im a student.
Please help.

I would certainly appeal, for advice on what to do and how to go about it pop over to pepipoo and start a thread on there. The eagles on there'll probably find a way to get them quashed. http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?act=SF&s=&f=30

The penalty for passing through the zone, without paying the charge by the end of that day, is one hundred and twenty pounds, or sixty pounds, if you pay within fourteen days. Where did this one hundred and eighty pounds, times three, come from?

There is a charge of £180, but this only applies if you don't pay the penalty within 28 days.
Are you sure that you've not misread the paperwork that was sent to you?

If the penalty charge is not paid within 28 days of the date of service then it increases to £180 and a Charge Certificate is sent to the registered keeper of the vehicle.
