Hi, my laptop will not start up. It gets as far as the windows loading page and then it is saying it did not start up successfully and asking me to start in safe mode etc. When I try any of these I end up with the same message. Can anyone help?

Have you got any data (photos etc) on the laptop that you need to save?'Parking tickets' issued by Private Parking Companies are not 'parking tickets' at all. They are unenforceable invoices as stated by MSE head Martin Lewis recently on TV.

I'd go for a fresh install from the recovery partition. What version of windows is it running?'Parking tickets' issued by Private Parking Companies are not 'parking tickets' at all. They are unenforceable invoices as stated by MSE head Martin Lewis recently on TV.

Its windows xp professional edition. How do I do the recovery?0

From what I remember:
When you turn on the laptop get your finger over the F10 key. As soon as the screen comes to life (Dell logo) start pressing the F10 key repeatedly. If that doesn't bring up the option to restore try using the F11 key.
Let me know if that works.'Parking tickets' issued by Private Parking Companies are not 'parking tickets' at all. They are unenforceable invoices as stated by MSE head Martin Lewis recently on TV.

Srry to jump in, isn't it Ctrl-F11 to access the recovery partition as soon as switched on?0
