Transparent plastic/rubber floor edging

In my mother's house she has a transparent edging strip where the floor meets the kitchen unit plinth. It almost seems to grip the floor/plinth though I expect it's probably self adhesive. I could really do with something similar myself but haven't seen any in B&Q or the like. Can anyone tell me what it's likely to be called (trim? edging? etc) so I can look for some myself. It's really good as it settles into the shape of the floor (she has a slightly sculptured vinyl ) so keeps draughts out and also doesn't need to be colour matched either with the unit or the floor (I never know which is best)

Many thanks

DS

I don't hmow what its called but it comes with the plinth. I've never seen it available on its own.

Try using a clear silicon mastic instead. It will do the same thing.

Many thanks. I didn't really want to actually stick anything if I could help it. This trim thingie she has seems to hold itself in place somehow. But it looks as though that's the only option. Thanks very much, I'll do as you suggest.

They are normally pinned onto the bottom edge of the plinth. When I have fitted kitchens I tend to throw them away and use mastic.

If that is the right stuff, make sure you read the reviews and find somewhere that stocks the right width for your plinth or it won't fit. The B&Q trim is 16mm, when apparently their kitchen plinths are 17mm!

Hmm, well I suppose it might be the right stuff but I hadn't realised it went right under the plinth. I was thinking more of an L shaped piece with perhaps a bit that tucked under, or self adhesive. I don't really want to dismantle kitchen plinths to fit it but thanks, I'll be sure to check out the sizes if I go down that route - and mine are B and Q plinths. Hmm again......thinks.....might be back to the drawing board with this idea then.

    Thanks all

You don't need to 'dismantle' plinths, they are just clipped on to the cabinet legs with these

It looks like it might be spam I'm afraid, it seems to be a web hosting site. If not, they need to show their delivery charges a lot better.
I have found some on ebay now though, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Set-3-Clip-Plinth-Seal-Strips-3-0m-Long-18-19mm-/200543405908?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Kitchen_KitchenFurniture_EH&hash=item2eb1518754#ht_500wt_922 I shall have a further look on google but we never had any luck when we were hunting for these things in any shops. They all looked at us as though we were from another planet!
