Used debit card in Sainsburys on Fri night. How long to go out?

Re HSBC, don't they all say add an extra day because the machine isn't emptied until the next working day anyway? So why is Santander 2 extra days.
No, if you pay in cheques to the machine at Halifax they count as being paid in on that day, rather than the following day. HSBC just decide to add an extra day on to it.
(I'm talking about the in-branch machines for HSBC and Halifax here, rather than ATMs).0 -
Ah righto, I was on about ATM cheque deposits, I don't have any experience with the IDMs.0

It was a machine inside the branch that I used.
Anyway just to update - the sainsburys payment went out first thing monday morning and the cash still hasn't gone in. As expected really.
I paid money in over the counter monday morning and the cashier said there's a chance i won't be charged because it was only a matter of 5 mins o/d, but i bet i will be. Won't know until next month when statement is issued as charges are applied the following month! So don't really know one way or the other.
Thanks everyone for your help.0
