Not really a basket but these mugs are a good stocking filler or small gift for a child.

    Filled mugs
    Mug only
    Cellophane bag to wrap mug
Followed the link thanks for that - these are cute...

It's hard trying to get the right balance between being careful with money (and paying my debts) and being a cheapskate... For young kids I already have quite a few items stored in my present box... but it is for a couple of boys aged between 8 and 11 and a teenage boy that it is more of a challenge. Those and the adults mentioned in the previous post...

It might be that some of them I do still give £ to - but I wondered whether anyone had found a good source of say football or rugby type stuff that would make them happy. Two of them are man city fans - don't know what rugby club they support....

Saving homes for your neice 1&2 you could still give them money but maybe make it into a sweety box aswell? Stole this pic from somewhere else ...

This is such a great idea. My niece and sister love crafting so I am sure that the box could be used after too.

There are so many fantastic ideas on here.

How about a movie basket for the boys - cheapie DVD or DVD rental voucher, microwave popcorn, popcorn boxes (seen these on ebay), maybe few sweets, couple bottles pop, movie clapperboard (seen these on ebay).

For any ladies how about some homemade bathsalts - really easy. These links are useful... http://www.allfreecrafts.com/bath-and-body/index.shtml

Or if you don't want to do homemade you can pick up really reasonable priced toileteries if you shop around and 'pad out' with cheapie flannel, body puff, soap.

Could you make fudge, biscuits etc to give? Not for the people looking to reduce sugar I know!http://www.nestle.co.uk/OurBrands/Recipes/OldFavourites/Ultimate+Fudge.htm

Rusty, fab trays and they look so good in the bags - I have both of those myself! I would be so thrilled to receive one of those as a gift, you've put loads of thought into them and that really shows. Well done you :D

Savingholmes, had another thought about the footie mad boys. How about a Man City mug with some hot choc sachets, marshmallows and some sweets/biscuits?

There are also cello bags in Lakeland (large enough for filled mugs or small pressies) - clear or sweetie printed £1.99 for 50+ p&p but they have them instore too. http://www.lakeland.co.uk/sweetie-bags/F/keyword/sweet+bags/product/10868

Rusty - Lovely baskets/bags............what a novel way to give a pressie within a pressie ! Now why didn't I think of that ?????

Did a couple of sweetie boxes like that for my teenage grandchildren for Easter as a change from money or the usual choccie egg. They were over the moon, as was their Dad, so I'm going to try and fit in doing him one for his 40th to add to his Beatles 'ornament' (for want of a better word) and survival kit.
Not sure I'll be popping in the discreeting rolled up tenner though .............lol
I've just paid out for his tour of the Lennon/McCartney houses when he does the Beatles/Liverpool bit.............lol

  • I love those fair trade hampers, they are lovely. I seem to have come to a halt with christmas presents, run out of cellophane so I have ordered some today, then I shall get on with wrapping the hampers I have ready so I can see where I am.
