  • Rainmac, thank you so much for that link to the cupcake cases. They are much cheaper than I expected so I have ordered some for flannel cupcakes!

On the issue of the cellophane being see through, I'm planning to do a layer of white tissue, then a layer of cellophane on my Christmas baskets to make the contents a surprise. I think this will look really nice with the hessian one as it will show off the gold.

Got some amazing bargains in Wilkos yesterday.

The baskets were 49p each and will be perfect for hampers for brothers (OH and I have 5 between us).

The teapot for one is actually a tea cup as well and cost a modest £2.50, perfect for a tea hamper.

Mug was 49p and Whisks were 25p for the two. Both will be made into mini-hot chocolate cellophane gifts with some hot chocolate sachets and maybe a flake or marshmallows, perfect for secret santa etc. They had loads of mugs half price.

Also Poundland still have bath puffs 5 for £1 and loads of branded smellies for £1. I bought OH Shockwaves hair wax which he normally pays £3.50 for and also Dove shampoo and conditioner.

On the subject of tool trays for sweetie trays, Maplin do the clear tool trays which mean you can see the sweets from both sides.

I can't see them on the website, but it may be worth anyone doing a sweetie tray popping in if they have a Maplin near them. They start at £1.49 for the smallest size and go up in price.

I've discovered that they are great for keeping pairs of earrings in once all the sweets have gone too!

Woolies were selling the sectioned boxes for £1 last year - will have a look later and see if they're still about.

I wanted the ones with just the clear top as I plan on putting some tissue paper over the top so they cannot see what is inside still and it is a suprise. I only mentioned these as there was a £10 code for wickes so pretty much works out free for a couple of them!

i looked everywhere locally and no where sells them apart from one place and they were £4 each! I refuse to pay that for them.

Grandparents get presents.... Where adult siblings married just buy for nieces, nephews and own children and OH. Where no kids yet / not married.... still buy for them. Have a big family so even that adds up. Sometimes buy token presents for others. Presents tend to be £10-20. Sometimes spend more on MIL as she is so good to us during the year. Yeah I really said that.:rotfl:
