Have you tried scouring the store display units for cardboard display boxes. I used one for mine as they add support to the back & sides leaving the front exposed which it just what you need here.
My boxes were from Tesco & housed cardmaking kits bit there are very similar ones in there just now all pastel shades with easter items in which you could rearrange/shelf tidy & bag the box.

I'll go find the hamper I did & you can see the box better ( description is pants I know ) Post 1507

I found them in the sale at Whittards, can't remember if they were a pound or 50p, both my Sisters like "a drink" lol so thought they would be funny

Ps the giant cups and saucers came from there too!

WOW! That's all I can think of to say! I have spent all day trawling through the hundreds of posts in this thread, and all of the photos are amazing!

I've decided I'm going to do these myself for Xmas and birthdays this year, so I best get accumulating stuff!

Just one question....I saw a few people's hampers that were in mini tin baths from Matalan...any idea if I could still get these? They would be perfect for what I have planned. I would bet that I've missed them though!

Well done to everyone, you really should be proud of yourselves! Hopefully I will do just as well! :T

    xx

p.s. if anyone can point me in the direction of tesco goodies...it would be greatly appreciated. I know its slightly off topic, but i noticed someones signature said that they didn't do boots anymore because tesco freebies were better!
I don't believe in doing things the easy way..... :)

I picked up a very simular box a little while ago but it appears to be a lot smaller than yours, I shall have a look around when I'm next shopping, thanks for the idea.

Its funny what we pick up for free that might "be of use" I was looking for some wooden squweers (can never spell that word) and couldn't find any, then one day I met my Sister in Starbucks for a coffee and as I was stirring my Latte something just clicked, the wooden stirrers!!!! So now I just aquire a few with my coffee;)

Yes I need help in Tesco's too but I love Boots now

Another thing to bear in mind when hamper making is space, you need storage for your bargains and then somewhere to store empty baskets and somewhere to put your baskets while filling and completing...I have so many plastic storage containers now all stacked up in my spare room! I wouldn't dare step into the de-cluttering thread since starting this hobby lol

hogshead - I am going to do hampers for the teachers as leaving presents in the summer and seeing yours has given me some ideas, an idea of what to put in them but also what to put them in. I will start looking round the supermarkets now - have got plenty of time:D
