And Poundland are doing a box of 4 x tubs (?), (the type where you peel the lid off) - for a pound (again)
It's for small dogs, but seemed good value to me.

Another little hamper from me - for my Grandma
A seagrass container, with lid, containing Avon Lavender perfume, shower gel and liquid soap, Dove moisturiser, a honey/milk teddy bear soap and a bath scrunchie (thanks to a lovely MSE-er a while ago - was sent for another project but didn't make it in). The little voile bag is filled with Roses chocolates.
And wrapped -
Cost £4.40, rrp of over £16DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
Thats lovely earthmother -love the voile bag. Did you make it from some curtains or can they be bought ? I'm wrapping some of my hampers in some voile curtains I've got that dont fit -might as well make use of it.
Like the price as well ! And the teddy soap ! :TMary

Thanks Mary
I bought the bag from the reduced shelf in Tesco last week - it was in a pack of 10 discontinued from the wedding range - in fact I'm thinking of going back on Monday and getting some more as they'd be perfect for little end of term gifts for school and playgroup.
They were £1.99 (half price), but if you want lots, then you can get them much cheaper (per bag) on eBay.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -

My cousin is coming for the easter week-end, & he is [STRIKE]an absolute nightmare[/STRIKE] difficult to buy for.
I was thinking of one of those 'tobacco' tins but with a good picture on & filling it with diabetic sweets. Then when he goes out he has somewhere to keep a few without them getting into a sticky mess in his pocket.
Again, not a hamper as such I suppose....Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Nice idea BMF............some of those tobacco tins are very decorative and at least its somewhere handy to keep his diabetic sweets.
My dad always used to take those mini mars bars out with him as a 'just in case' but they were a bit big for tobacco tin so Mum stuffed them in her handbag.Mary

With me it's mostly trial and error, with lots of ideas from here added to the mix.
In gathering the contents, I tend to start with one item (it was the perfume in the last one) and build from there.
As far as putting it together - I pick a container that seems to be the right size and just keep shuffling things around until it look right, then take a picture - it's surprising sometimes how different it looks on screen, and can show up glaringly obvious problems (like price tags etc).
Wrapping is often the easy bit - a very good bit of advice from another hamper-maker (forget who - sorry) is not to be delicate about it - just grab and wrap - the more you worry about it and try to tweak bits, the worse it will look - and this applies to cellophane and tissue.
