For Anyone Who Want's To Know The Yes/no Dolls Are From Homebargains.
  • Hi everyone!! This is my first ever post so hope I've done it correctly.

I've been really inspired by this thread and have started 6 hampers for friends and family!! Mostly freebies and bogof deals so not costing a lot at all.

I went to Ikea last night and found some brilliant baskets reduced from £5.99 to £1.99 each!!! They look a little bit like a nest so are a bit different and I wasn't sure about them at first. After getting them home and putting each persons items into each basket I am really chuffed at how they are going to look. A lot better than I expected!! They actually look really professional. Nobody is going to believe I made them!! I will try to post photos when they are completed.

(The baskets are called BRAM and can be found on Ikeas website under "small storage". They honestly do look a lot better in real life!!!)

hi i just got some cellophane from my local garden centre. they had all different patterned ones or simple clear ones and they were rolled up in a bucket near the cut flowers, so that you can make your own bunch. the sheets are 70 cm by 120 cm and cost a mere 35p!!

so go along to your garden centre and grab a bargain hopefully. i would think most garden centres do them in a similar size for a similar price.

    hope this helps someone.

Well after moving the contents from basket to basket i have finally got my sisters "pamper hamper" done and wrapped.... if i don't wrap it i will keep adding bits ;)

    She has :-
    1. polar bear hot water bottle
    2. st ives body scrum
    3. st ives body whip
    4. bath foam
    5. bath cream
    6. 4 olive oil soaps with essential oils
    7. hand scrub

    9. a new lippy

    13. rainbow drops -her fave childhood sweet
    14. and a little bottle of fizz...not suposed to be drinking much at the moment...
In total it came to about £10... so im happy with that.. i even snook in some extra choccy by sticking them to the front of the basket.
The gold wooden tree hanging off.. was one of a selection i got..20 for 50p..
decided not to stick bows on a I have to get 10 hampers in the back of the car along with loads of beer etc to take back to the UK  ..and no doubt it would all drop off

Any tips to wrapping the cellothane? We're doing a wicker picnic basket with a lid if that makes a difference!

    Hi there skint_catt

I ended up standing the basket on the cellophane and pulling up enough at the front and back so it would meat at the top, and then i pleated it down and taped it.. and then treated the sides like wrapping a normal box for xmas.

Yours should look neater as you have a nice straight shape to follow and the pleated bit will disappear down the back of the lid...

i had to have a couple of fiddles with it..but at least it doesn't rip or crumple like paper :p
