I buy all of my xmas pressies for the following year, in the boxing day sales. So don't have to be one of the plebs buying at full wack a few days before xmas!0

I once queued up for 24 hours outside a store (which was closed) for a free copy of MS OFFICE - Microsoft where giving them away and only this first 4 people who queued would get one.
It was horrible!! but worth it in the end.. and I didnt even have a chair so sat on the floor! then went to the doctor for piles!0 -
hi
for the last few years i have been to the next sales (husband thinks i'm nuts), but i do like to get a bargain for my kids and usually kit them out for the next year or so. the only bits i hate is waiting at 4.30am in the freezing cold and then waiting over 45 mins to get to the till. still it's only a few times a year. i also like the disneystore sale and the boots sale.
regards

You only have to read about the sales they had last Friday Stateside to see true dedication.
The day after Thanksgiving, you see, is the start of the US Holiday Shopping season, and traditionally the peak time for sales.
A Best Buy store in New Jersey had 2000 folks at 5am, and some had started at 8am Thursday.. At another store, the cnn report said a kid had dropped 700 bucks in an hour, and the !!!! was still asleep!
Plus bear in mind that Wal-Mart alone takes 1 billion dollars on that day alone in sales (removes little finger from side of mouth).
Mind you, I can think of the state of Asda stores in Brighton the afternoon of Princess Dianas funeral to say how manic things can get. Harrods crockery sale was a walk in the park compared to the mania we had that day!0 -
During the first few days of sale while working at the tills in Next. It would take ages for me to pack the bags. Until they told us to just fold the garments in half with the hangers on and staight in the special sized sale bags. Still it was normal to pack about 4 full bags for one customer about a black bag size. Mainly because the changing rooms were normally closed for the 1st day during sales. So customers were buying 2 sizes incase one didnt fit. So its worth having a look when the rush dies down. When the returns come back.
Man was it a hassle to do returns , esp with a number of receipts.
Before they let customers through the door on the 1st day , i would go and pick up some quick bargains. Man it was scary having the customers out side peering in.
Had a stark naked male in the store once during the sale in Next. Lol made me laugh for the rest of the day.
Glad i left as my bank balance was a sight, esp during the sales. Too many bargains to be had.A smile and manners doesnt cost any thing0
