Im sure there is a strict procedure they have to follow, isnt there? as already been said there needs to be a ccj before bailiffs can come round? sounds like they are in breach of pretty much everything!

yes thats the sort code for everyone ,thats why you need to put your account number as the reference so they know its you paying . if you havent got your reference number (account number) then dont pay into the account.

keep strong dont let the !!!!!!s get you down.

Send them this letter, by recorded delivery, keep a copy and don't sign it, just print your name.

    Company Name
    Road

    City / County

    Account Number: XXXXXXX

    Dear Sirs,

Please be advised that I will only communicate with you in writing. I have noted your repeated attempts to contact me over the past few weeks and these have been duly logged by time and date.

Furthermore, should it be your intention to arrange a “doorstep visit”, please be advised that under OFT rules, you can only visit me at my home if you make an appointment and I have no wish to make such an appointment with you.

There is an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions etc (Armstrong v Sheppard & Short Ltd [1959] 2 QB 384. per Lord Evershed M.R.). Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives to visit me at my property and, if you do so, you will be liable to damages for a tort of trespass and action will be taken, including but not limited to, police attendance.

    Yours faithfully,

And do complain to Barclays, definitely in writing and on the phone if you can. Again, keep a copy of all letters, if you call, make a note of who you spoke to.

Don't panic about these "doorstep collection agents", they have absolutely no rights to enter your property, nor are they allowed to harass you. Next time they knock at your door, tell them to bog off or else you will call the police.
If it's any consolation, I've had these clowns on my back too but after they got a copy of the above letter, they did back off. I owe around £600 and they're only getting £14 a month from me!

    great advice from barbiedoll x

would suggest you make sure to keep log of times/dates but also hold onto the notes, if they are putting notes through saying they wont go away until you come to the door, that's surely clear harassment and intimidation sint it?, may be worth taking photocopies, writing on the times and dates and enclosing it as 'exhibit A' with letters?

hang onto everything, try and get somebody to be with you as a witness, take a note of exactly how long they hang around etc. Suggest you make it very clear to them and Barclays that you are pregnant, poorly and therefore vulnerable, if they fail to comply with the rulings make it clear to them verbally and in writing that you are aware of the rules and that they are clearly in breach of them and therefore you will be persuing the matter if they dont stop immediately?

you and your baby's health are the most important thing xx

Thanks guys have used that letter & just writing a modified version for Barclaycard themselves.
From reading the OFT website they seem to be breaking quite a few of the guidelines! b*stard5!x

Hammering on the door at all hours of the day and night is not at all reasonable in anyone's book. I would defintely write them a stiff letter and I would just go and report them to the OFT, Trading Standards, perhaps the financial ombudsman? and everyoneelse you can think of. They may not be aware that you are pregnant and have had problems with it? I'm not sure if you have told them this but that is no way to behave at all.
I might be tempted to also report them to the police and get a crime reference number and write to Barclays etc to tell them you have reported them for harrassment.
At least Halifax/LLoyds are not hassling you at the moment but it might be worth sending them a letter explaining you wish to be contacted in writing only - you refuse the right for doorstep callers and that you are vulnerable - then at least if htey do try anything on you can report them and hopefully it might make them think twice.
With Halifa/Lloyds you can't make them stop interest and charges - you can write to them again and repeat your situation and ask them to. You can always try an official complaint letter as these apparently get looked at by different departments and say something along the lines of it not being a fair relationship, you've tried to seek help, you've kept in contact with them at all times, etc. You can always report them to the Ombudsman for being difficult/obstructive and that they are not helping you and you feel that they should be obliged to help you out as you are being responisible and sorting things out. To go to the Ombudsman you have to have exhausted the internal complaints procedure of the company concerned first I believe and it takes quite a while for the ombudsman to get around to your case as well so this is not a quick fix but worth keeping in reserve if neccessary.
    Don't let them beat you.
