Tongue & Groove in Bathroom

I've recently had a shower fitted over my bath, the thing is I am wondering about my options for the areas that get splashed.

My bathroom has a combination of painted walls and tongue and groove wood panelling. I really like it, and don't want to rip it all out to tile it unless I have to (also I have no idea how to remove the tongue and groove).

Any ideas on what I can do ?

Thanks

In addition to Yacht Varnish ,any good quality exterior varnish will do - is designed for heat extreames (sun and snow) and wet (rain!).... Maybe that make that says "it does what it says on the tin" would be a good bet! All the DIY shops sell it B&Q, Focus, Homebase etc.
  • I did mine with yacht varnish 10 years ago and it is still holding up well.
