    If you drove to the supermarket & back you wouldn't say 'I've been on 2 trips to the supermarket' :D

    (I guess it depends on the puzzle setter)

    Also depends on if you took a couple of lengths of rope to pull it back empty... Guess you can tell I lived where I had to get a ferry on chains by my lOgic!

    I think it's one of those ones where you need to count each traverse of the river as one trip. showing his working out will explain it, no doubt.;)
