Worcester Bosch 19/24CBi - very noisy!

Hi,
Recently bought and moved house which has the above central heating boiler fitted. According to the paperwork it was installed in 2004 and was serviced annually. The radiators/pipework etc. were installed when the property was built in 1986/7.

My problem is that the system is extremely noisy! At first I thought it may have been the pump but after investigation it seems like it is coming from the boiler. When the system is running (for either or both central heating & hot water) there's a consant 'whining' noise which can be heard throughout the house. (For those old enough to remember, it actually sounds like a tyre of a buckled bicycle wheel rubbing on the frame everytime it revolves, if you can understand that!) When the boiler reaches temperature and clicks off with its thermostat, the noise ceases but then recommences when the boiler fires again.

Anyone have any ideas as to the cause? I'm going to purchase and install some inhibitor later today to see if that helps.

Possibly the fan bearings?

i have one of these boilers and mine quite often vibrates for 10minutes or so. very odd. many BG engineers have looked at it but they have no idea why it vibrates. even holding the cover it still rumbles and vibrates. i understand these were not worcester bosch's best boilers.
