You should be able to claim 15 hours free every week for your older child.
I find 400 pw a lot of money in childcare.

between us we work random hours - our childminder is a saviour - the 400 is worrth what she does - ie - pick ups between 6am-7am breakfast, dinner, tea, trips, nappies, wipes, milk, drop offs anytime from 6pm - 8pm x

Hi sorry for hijacking this thread but I may have the opportunity of more hours from April, could someone kindly work out my entitlement.

This is the info you might need

35 hours per week term time only

£17400 (actual pay- before tax)

Single

3 Children

£240 per week childcare

Are your childcare cost the same for the whole year? Is this the average weekly cost after taking school holidays into account?

If so, I've worked your tax credits out to be £328.93 per week from April 2011.
