Sale of Goods Act query

Can anyone tell me the legal situation we have encountered.

We bought a set of saucepans of French manufacture some years ago in the UK. A hole has appeared in one of them, and the manufacturers have said this has never happened before, should not have happened, but as they do not deal with the public, please go back to the original shop.
The original shop say they no longer deal with this manufacturer, and referred us to the current UK supplier. They in turn say they will not accept any responsibility or liability for anything from another company.

What is the legal situation?

Thanks

By a number of years I assume over 6 (even if a little less) there is nothing you really can do.

Speak to manufacturer and explain your problem re shop and imprter and see what they say Anything you get will ne a purely goodwill gesture.
