Aldi Area Manager graduate scheme

I agree with what the poster above says, but if you are not up for that in your early twenties when you have (presumably) no ties or location issues then you will never be up for it. Some people are, some are not, those that are generally reap the rewards young, and can take it easier in later life.0

It is good money, but if something goes wrong at one of the shops at 3am you will be expected to be there. If you can't cope with that go for a steady 9-5 engineering job, which is less likely to drive you crackers. Alternatively if you are likely to get a 2:1 then look at finance. Just as hard work and even more ridiculous pay for those with numerate degrees."Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. If we could just remember this, I think there would be a lot more compassion and tolerance in the world."— Frank Warren0

Thanks everyone, some interesting points.
I can tell they're going to expect a pound of flesh and then some but lets be honest that kind of money doesn't come for nothing. Definitely going to apply in a few months time when I start applying for grad roles0 -

I applied to Aldi back in December, and about 2 weeks ago found out I have the first stage interview this week - I am very nervous to say the least!!
I am not going into this blindly though - like you say, it is guaranteed to be the toughest work you will have done before, but thats what you expect for 40k! And people complain about the hours (some say its at least a 65hr week) but again, thats just retail - and an area manager in any other sector probably works very similar hours too.
Anyhow, I know that the more I read about it the more I want to do it.0 -

Are you graduating this year or next? If its this year, then by the time I was at your stage I had had all of my interview invitations already (although note that I stopped looking after I got a good offer)
Aldi doesn't have any deadline for applications unlike most other grad schemes so you can apply all year round, and could be invited to interview at any point. Plus, there is no official start date, from what I am told, you tell Aldi when you are available to start0 -
