in Credit cards
Hi, not really sure if posting this in right place but hope someone can help.
Am a first time buyer, have been accepted for mortgage etc, everything underway with regards to that. Have a good credit rating, no debts, no missed payments.
Have been to buy some furniture tonight and was going to do it over 3 years 0% finance. The finance company they use was Barclays.
Did all the application etc then it caim back declined. I don't know why, when phoned they said i had to write to them to find out why.
I got home and had a look on experian and ive noticed it says i'm not on the electoral role, but i am as i receive polling cards. I currently live in a flat, and there has been issues with different address versions. The electoral role section lists 3 entrys, the oldest being my mum and dads, the next being this address where i am now which in fact says i AM on it, then Entry 1, which im assuming is the one they look at says i am not, and its a different version of my current address. I've also noticed my postcose is incorrect.
I don't understand because i had no issues getting my mortgage approval.
How do i resolve this varying address issue and electoral role issue? do i contact the credit file company or the council? And now i have a declined search will this effect future searches? I was going to do my sofa on 0% finance too but now i'm not sure its a good idea for another search.
Don't really know who to ask to do what to make it all accurate! Is there a way you can tell it any addresses similar are in fact the same?
Hope someone can help, sorry its a long one!

didn't know what! best be careful then as you say.
I've phoned the barclay partner finance people today and they said they have the strictest lending criteria. They did however have my address correct and in fact did have me down as being on the electoral roll. He said all i can do is write to them and appeal it. I wanted to keep my money in the bank rather than buying all my furntiture outright but looks like i may have to now.
Just find it very strange, is it because i am no risk and will make no money from me i wonder? very frustrating either way as people i know with poor credit ratings can get 0% finance!Bacrlaycard
