I bought one of these, having failed to see the small print; on the very last line it stated, almost as an afterthought, not suitable for low pressure systems! Was yours one of these?

I don't know. I installed it and it's been perfect for 3 years.

But then I wouldn't expect we have low pressure as it delivers a decent flow rate.

Plumbworld have a decent selection of mixr showers. We bought ours there for around £75 4 years ago. 3 of us in the house so it's used a fair amount nad never caused any hassle.

Even better, if you have a quidco account and go to plumbworld via quidco, you'll get a reduction but I can't remember the exact amount.

Watch out for the bargain basment type bins in B&Q we bought ours for £50 (end of line). It had retailed at £249.99. If you can wait you can shop around for bargains. We collected the bits for our bathroom over a few years.

    Good Luck
  • I bought one from B&Q in June last year, all in under £99. Very good deal, think they still have them around the same price. Anyway, fitted it myself, instructions on these things not so clear and proved to be tricky even for a competent DIYer like myself. Took about 4 hours to fit (including drilling and fitting ceramic tiles). But a great result. Worth the money and they beat electric ones.

Last time I sourced my taps and tiles in Spain where they were far less than half UK price.

for example this http://www.bathroomsandshowersdirect.co.uk/grohe-kitchen-taps/eurodisc-sink-taps "discounted" to £205 was available for 89€ @ Leroy Merlin

  • MX5Huggy, Would you care to share where you get your information from regarding mark up of Mixer showers because as a retailer i'm clearly doing something wrong when negotiating my buying terms
  • They have to have a thermostatic control valve in them to prevent anyone getting scolded. That bumps up the price as well as the higher margins due to it being a low volume item.
