Incapacity Benefit payment suspended

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a little advice, I am claiming Incapacity Benefit and I was due to be paid today 4th March 2011. Well I went to the post office as normal but there was no payment in my account so I called the local benefit delivery centre and was told: Sorry your payments have been suspended as we have been sending letters to your address but they have been sent back as not at this address.
The lady I spoke to asked for my address and I told her and she said that doesn't match the address we have, she asked what my address is and updated the system and said that a payment would be released once she had emailed my details to another department and when they lift the suspension.
My questions, How long does it take for them to lift the suspension and release a payment?
Another question is How long after releasing a payment will it take to enter my account.
Has this happened to anyone else before?
Sorry if my post is little long winded but I would appreciate any advice you have

Payments usually take 3 working days to arrive into your account

I'd give them a call in a few days to make sure the suspension has been lifted and your money sent, just to set your mind at rest.0 -
I've no idea if it's the same thing, but last year I was receiving DWP letters to a woman I'd never heard of before, but addressed to my flat.
I ended up locating the woman & phoning her, probably against all DWP policies but I couldn't give a damn, but that was the only way she made sure her letters were being sent to her address.
NB she never lived at this address, or an address similar to it, it was obviously an error linking random names to addresses etc.

A similar thing happened to my partner. You need to ask for an "internet payment" and you will recieve it the same day if you are not able to wait the 3 days. It then goes into your account about 4pm that day.0

Thanks for the replies guys. I have no idea why the address they held was different to the one I gave them, I completed a proforma over the telephone when I changed address and I had to complete another on Friday to rectify the mistake on their system.
I was told that my pay day is actually a Monday but an anomaly exists in the banking system that means I get it on a Friday instead. I was told that when they lift the suspension they will credit my account but I wasn't told how long it would take.
I was surprised to hear that the DWP did "internet payments", so am I to understand that they could in theory have lifted the suspension on Friday and pay the money they have suspended into my account on Monday to coincide with when I would ordinarily expect to get paid under their system?
You guys have been great, I am relieved to hear that I am not the only person that has encountered these problems with the DWP. All though it is shocking that they can make these mistakes with peoples addresses.0 -
They messed up one of my husbands JSA payments once (suspended for moving house and the job centre not passing on that he had signed on) so when the payment didnt appear he phoned them and like Aimeesmum said, he got a payment by the end of the day, I think if you just stress that you need the money for food/rent then they will do it quickly.Make £10 a day Dec 2016 £130.52/£310

I've never heard of an 'Internet Payment' so I am assuming the poster that said that is a bit confused. Thanks for the replies guys. They can make same day payments via a system called CHAPS but this is rarely done.
There are also 'Interim' payments which are payments made on account of benefit and then recovered in full from the following payment/s.0 -
I think may interim and internet have been mixed up:rotfl::rotfl:make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Check your account in the morning, Monday, if it isn't showing a payment phone the DWP.0
